Advent Day of Retreat

Give yourself the gift of silence and stillness during this Season of Advent, as you prepare your heart and your home for the birth of our Lord, Jesus.

The season of Advent calls us to be still and to be alert, to open our hearts, to become more deeply aware of the One who dwells within us, and to receive and welcome the One who comes.

“Make your home in me, as I make mine in you.”  John 15:4.

Make plans now to set aside some time in your day and come Home to the Lord on Thursday, December 10th--you are invited to an Advent Day of Retreat. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed following the 6:45am Mass. The retreat day offers times of silence and a schedule of events to guide you in prayer. Join with us live at the Grand Church, virtually from your home via the livestream on the St Francis of Assisi Facebook page, or from your home using the at-home retreat guide. What a beautiful way to offer yourself to the Lord, and to give yourself the gift of prayer and silence. Please prayerfully consider how you can give yourself this gift during the Advent Day of Retreat. Whether you can commit a full hour or just 15 minutes, any time spent with the Lord our God will bring peace to your soul.

To pray with us throughout the day, please consider downloading the app iBreviary on your phone or tablet. All the prayers you need can be found there! Please contact the Parish Office if you would like to receive the at-home retreat guide booklet.

The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed following the daily Mass, and will be available for you to pray in silence or in any form of prayer you choose throughout the day. These additional prayer opportunities will be offered at the times listed below.
