Spring Service Day

Calling ALL Parishioners!

Spring Service Day:  Sunday, May 20th

Last Fall we had our first ‘Be the Change’ Service Day where 75 members of our parish spread out and served at local organizations in town.  This Spring, we want to host another one on Pentecost Sunday with a broad focus: to bring God's love to all the corners of our community! We want EVERYONE to consider SOMETHING they can do for someone else and make a point of doing it on Pentecost.

  •  Maybe you've been meaning to get to your parents' house to help change some light bulbs or cleaning out the garage...
  •  Maybe you know someone who has been sick or taking care of others who could use help with some yard work...
  •  Maybe you'd be willing to ask one of your neighbors if you could assist them with something...
  •  Maybe you'd be willing to help someone you don't even know yet but who could use a hand...
  •  Maybe your physical abilities are less now, but you'd like to make something beautiful to lift someone's spirits...
  •  Maybe you can bake or cook from home and would like to share that gift with either a local organization or a person or family who's new to town, just had a baby, or is part of our care ministry program...

These are TEACHABLE MOMENTS for families. It doesn't have to take all day, but what an impact it could have on your children to have you say that you will be taking some time that day to put our Catholic faith into action by...

  •  Making a visit to a nursing home or care facility...
  •  Signing up to serve at a local organization and teaching them about the needs of others...
  •  Going for a walk and picking up garbage along the way...
  •  Participating in a project to help with the grounds of our Churches...
  •  Making a point to ACT, to SERVE, to LOVE on that day especially.
  •  We will have a few organized projects that you can participate in if you'd like OR you can do ANYTHING to be of service to others.

Either way, we invite you to the following:

10:30 a.m. Mass - to be blessed and sent forth from Pentecost Mass

11:30 a.m. Grand Social Hall - we will gather for light lunch and a short talk from one of our priests about the importance of working with the Holy Spirit to bring about the Kingdom of God

12:15 p.m. Head out to serve! (** Please register if you plan to attend so we have enough food.)

If you plan to do private service, we invite you to contact us so that we can track the many good works happening that day!  This can be a powerful witness - please join us in this very special service day!!
