Fr. Dave's Take on It... 1/6/19:
Three old guys are out walking. First one says, “Windy, isn’t it?” Second one says, “No, it’s Thursday.” Third one says, “So am I. Let’s stop and get a beer.”
Don’t you wonder what the conversation was among the three kings as they journeyed to Bethlehem? Did their wives send them off with their blessings?
Astronomy remains an interesting science, studying the universe and all it contains. What a marvelous Creator we have! And each of us is of far greater importance than any star or galaxy. When you and I were born, no one may have brought us gold, but being gifted and giving of ourselves is truly what life is all about—receiving love graciously and sharing it generously. So let us remind ourselves on this feast of the Epiphany that the baby Jesus was more important than the pageantry and gifts that were given; may he remain that important in our lives today!
