Bishop's Appeal

What is the Bishop's Appeal?

The Bishop's Appeal is a stewardship opportunity for each of us to reach out to thousands of people in search of Jesus' love.  Each gift given supports the ministries of the Diocese of Green Bay which serve our parishes, Catholic schools and communities.  Your gift truly helps bring the heart and hands of Christ to our children, young adults, families and neighbors here in northeastern Wisconsin.

To make a gift today contact your parish, visit the Bishop’s Appeal website at www.catholicfoundationgb.org/give,

Why Give to the Bishop’s Appeal?

And the king will say to them in reply, “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.”   Matthew 25:40

Your gift to the Bishop’s Appeal will help in countless ways.  Care ministers are trained to go out and share the Gospel with the homebound and sick.  Children and families are able to attend lively, interactive education programs learning the Word of God.  A young woman in an abusive relationship is able, through counseling with Catholic Charities, to stand on her own feet.  Families seeking to adopt are connected with newborn babies.  Your gift to the Bishop’s Appeal makes happy endings possible.

91% of every dollar raised goes to Diocesan ministries and services right here in northeastern Wisconsin.

Make a tremendous difference, and give to the Bishop’s Appeal. How much you give is less important than the spirit in which you give. Even small donations add up to large donations.  To make a gift today contact your parish, visit the Bishop’s Appeal website at www.catholicfoundationgb.org/give, or call Debbie toll-free at 877-500-3580, ext. 8184.

Your gift to the Bishop’s Appeal helped bring joy to young couples wanting to start their family through Adoption Services at Catholic Charities.  Your gift helped train care ministers to be the face of Christ to those who are homebound or in a nursing home.  Through your support of the Appeal you helped this special ministry bring Holy Communion to many people.

Message from the Bishop:

Bishop-Ricken5_Harmann-Studios-2013-WEB

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In the Gospel last Sunday, we heard Jesus call us to be the light of the world.  Jesus is encouraging us to follow in His footsteps.  To live a life that inspires people to know and love Jesus.  It can be a challenge to move outside our comfort zone and bring the Gospel message to those we encounter.  Through ministries like the Emmaus program disciples learn to share the Gospel.

“The Emmaus program has influenced me greatly,” said Kyle Holewinski.  “My faith is now stronger than ever. This program has changed my life.”

Kyle is now more confident in his faith.  He uses these skills at his parish as a confirmation teacher and at work as a deputy sheriff.  Through the support of the Bishop’s Appeal Kyle was able to walk this path of discipleship.

A gift to the Bishop’s Appeal makes a tremendous difference!  It is a chance to put our faith in action. Please prayerfully consider a gift to the Bishop’s Appeal.  Whatever gift you are able to give is greatly appreciated and is pleasing to our Lord.

God blesses each of us every day.  When you make a gift you are thanking God for the blessings He has given you.  Your gift to the Bishop’s Appeal helps your friends at your parish grow in their faith.  You offer care to people in need through Catholic Charities counseling services.  You encourage young people to stay active in their faith.  You are Inspiring Disciples.

Thank you for your support of the Church through the Bishop’s Appeal.  May God bless you and your family.

Bishop David L. Ricken
